For 10 subsequent years the property owner, Marianne, has been the physical host, welcoming all visitors, assisting to make their stay a warm, comfortable and memorable experience. A.U.R.A. (Acropolis Unique Residence Apartments) is a privately-owned apartment building which is composed of four large apartments for short term rentals including this one, the host’s reception office at the ground floor and a small private home on the top floors (former small rentals). Unlike most of the newest constructions in Athens, we have invested in renewable resources in the entire building; solar energy, geothermal energy, recently replaced by heat pumps. Our aim is to guarantee an absolute heating and cooling effect by environment friendly actions which offer full autonomy in every apartment, through an under-floor system (for long-term stays) and fan coils in every room for full autonomy per guest, plus hot running water at all hours, and the heating of the swimming pool during the winter season (exclusively for guests at the A.U.R.A. Penthouse). Visitors are encouraged to help us support the environment. What follows explains why. The A.U.R.A. Elegant Apartment, is situated at the 3rd floor, served by a large elevator. There are 5 comfortable bedrooms and next to each one of them 5 bathrooms from which one en suite, that include 3 bathtubs and 2 showers. All bedrooms are flexible as regards accommodation with king size or single beds. The kitchen area is convenient for home made preparations to enjoy a nice meal at the large dining table found at the sun bathing patio, overlooking the Acropolis on top of a beautiful tree-lined street. The patio’s large windows offer a nice view over the street’s life through the curtains which make up a beautiful theatrical scene as guests are gazing at the neighborhood’s residents passing by. The patio is particularly inviting to all guests as a relaxing lounge area with a comfy sofa and pouffes. All areas offer separate A/C and the apartment is quite spacious, extending to 180 sq.m. offering guests autonomy and privacy which are so valuable during traveling and sharing an apartment even among the closest group members. Location The neighborhood is Thission, a residential area probably the best in Athens, the most appealing of all for visitors as much as for Athenians, in the heart of the historical centre. It combines the characteristics of the mid19th century through the neoclassical residencies which are being continuously preserved, with the proximity to the most important archaeological sites through lovely pedestrian streets and some of the most beautiful walks in any European capital, as well as several ultra-hip surrounding areas to eat, shop and walk around. A large choice of cafes, traditional taverns and restaurants as well as local shops offer visitors the option to spend time in the neighborhood if they please and acquire the inside knowledge of Athens! The apartment is a 10-15 minutes’ walk to the most important attractions but outside the touristy mass or city noise so even the owner is often still taken by surprise from the calm it offers.
