Adespoto
About
Adespoto Music Taverna is an open‑air gem tucked into the leafy ruins of a historic Venetian townhouse on the corner of Sifaka & Melhisedek in Old Town Chania. From early April to the end of October, the taverna is open all day from noon to midnight (Monday‑Saturday) and offers a 6 pm opening on Sundays during high season. Guests enjoy traditional Chania and Cretan dishes—Dakos, myzithra croquettes, Sfakia lamb, and fresh sea‑snails—prepared with extra‑virgin olive oil and served with local draught beer, wine, and raki. Every evening at 7:30 p.m. a duo on bouzouki and guitar plays a blend of folk, rembetiko and contemporary Greek melodies, creating an intimate musical atmosphere just steps from the famed Venetian harbour and the city’s Byzantine walls. Established in 2006, Adespoto has become a beloved spot for locals and visitors alike, offering a taste of Crete’s culinary heritage in a historic setting. The relaxed ambience and live music make it ideal for casual dining, romantic evenings, and family outings alike. Whether you’re exploring the old town or simply craving authentic Greek fare, Adespoto promises memorable food, music, and a slice of Crete’s history.
