The Horse Riding Club of Chania opened its gates in 2012 in the beautiful mountain village of Malaxa just 15 minutes from the center of Chania town. Its 10 acres of space are used for horseback riding lessons and its stone build stables and paddocks. We have 17 horses, three of which are ponies. There is a stableman who cares for all horses and ensures the cleanliness of our stables. The Horse Riding Club of Chania, is addressed to all those who love animals, want to have a good physical condition and who are in need to find a special relaxation in a fun environment. We like to see people make contact with this beautiful animal, and our aim is to help them understand the horse and how to communicate with it. We have created an environment where athletes and people participating it, see it as a hobby and can spend their time creatively while horseback riding, or training if they are athletes, grooming the horses, and participating in some theoretical courses. Our purpose is to teach people what sports' riding is and what sectors it has: (Dressage, show Jumping, Eventing - triathlon). We have already established a very good athletic team that participates in Pancretan, Panhellenic and Balkan competitions and of course we are constantly in search for new athletes. The age at which this hobby / sport is addressed to, is for children from 3-18 years and adults from 19-72 years. We have also developed the hippotherapy or otherwise therapeutic horseback riding which offers disabled people a way of communication and to increase their balance. Combining all of the above, our Horse Back Riding Center welcomes schools, tourist trips, special schools, even events and parties. PROGRAMS / SERVICES The services offered are the riding lessons that may be of 10 minutes (it usually refers to small children and their first contact with a horse) twenty minutes (involving people of any age at their first lessons, who are not yet familiar with the horse) and 45 minutes (it involves people advanced at horseback riding and our athletes). The Horse Riding Club of Chania also gives the possibility to horse owners to rent one of our stables on a monthly basis. Horse stabling barn rental service. In this case the horse stays with us and the price includes the cleaning of the box, the horse's food and the owner's workouts. For those who want to further engage with the horseback riding but do not have their own horse, we can rent them on a monthly basis, a horse that we will recommend for their needs, and which they will only ride. There are also special price course packages such as of 5, 8 or 12 courses which are only 45 minutes and 20 minutes. We can also fix up groups for walks outside the premises, provided the rider has good riding skills. The walks are around the area in the beautiful nature that surrounds us.
