Eliathos building complex is a unique destination of refined beauty. Located in an area of 10.000 m2 among olive groves and vineyards, built at the foothills of Mount Giouchtas - considered one of the most beautiful mountains in Crete - and just 500m south of the historic village of Archanes in the Heraklion prefecture. Designed, constructed, and managed by a family of architects and engineers Eliathos has been built with respect to the local traditional architecture and has had special attention paid to every detail. The concept of Eliathos is focused around small, local, agro-tourism combining accommodation with culture and organized agricultural activities and excursions chosen specifically for our guests to have an opportunity to experience Crete authentically. We hope that each of our guests leaves with a true impression of and connection to Crete. Eliathos is the ideal destination for relaxation and rejuvenation year round. This magnificent complex consists of four villas divided into ten charming cottages, each with an inspiring Greek astrological name. The Villas are built in the "Venetian-Archanian" style which is traditional in the village of Archanes and all include a panoramic view to the traditional village of Archanes, Youchtas historical mountain and to the wide blue gulf of Heraklion. The Villas are cozy and well-designed, both inside and out, and include all modern conveniences. In combination with the contemporary concept of service we guarantee a comfortable and enjoyable stay for all guests. A restaurant is also located on the premises, with stunning views of the village of Archanes and surrounding nature, where breakfast, lunch, and dinner can be booked at a surcharge. Through the gardens of Eliathos there is a lovely and spacious swimming pool of 60 msquare for our guest, with a splendid view to the Archanian landscape as well. In line with Eliathos agricultural concept, our guests have the opportunity to surrender to the absolute peace of nature and appreciate the warm and friendly smile that is always available to them. Our hope is for them to bond with the place, the buildings, the environment, the people, and eventually with themselves. We are true lovers of Crete - its history, people, landscape, traditions and cuisine and are passionate about sharing this love with our guests. Our restaurant prepares dishes using fresh ingredients from our garden and meats and cheeses produced in the local village of Archanes. We offer cooking classes with a renowned local chef where guests have the opportunity to discover Cretan cuisine and what makes it so special. As per Eliathos residences' astrological names, astronomy nights are organized with a 16-inch Dobsonian telescope to personally observe the stars, star clusters, and numerous kinds of nebulae and galaxies. Through our tours - organized by experienced archaeologists - we address people who would like to experience the feeling of being true wayfarers and are interested not only in sightseeing but also in interpreting and understanding what they see, hear, and touch. Our excursions might refer to an event in history, can be based on important moments in the lives of the famous (Minos: The Nine-Year King) and everyday people (The Crete of Barskey), or explore nature paths (Tsigantes) and trails above or under the ground (Winery tours, journey through the Cretan Olive Orchards, etc.). Furthermore, we offer horseback riding tours through paths to caverns and historic monuments of the area.
