Situated on a vast 200-acre, beachfront property at the Western edge of Mavrovouni Beach, 7 km outside Gytheion at the start of the Mani Peninsula in the Peloponnese, Ktima Petalea is the ideal destination for environmentally-sensitive vacationers wishing to combine the perks of a holiday cottage with the attraction of a beachside vacation, and the allure of a nature recreation retreat. Each of the five autonomous cottages comfortably sleeps between 2-4, has a small lightly equipped kitchenette (hot plate, small fridge, coffeemaker, dinnerware...), a dining area, desk, and bathroom with shower. Each cottage has 2 or more private decks, lawn, and assigned parking space; while all guests are welcome to grill on the outdoor barbecue, and gather fresh herbs and vegetables for their meals from the kitchen garden. The on-site beach cafe mainly serves superb coffee and fresh, locally-sourced refreshments and light meals. Guests have private access to the beach, where sea turtles nest and hatch from June till September. For outdoor recreation lovers -in addition to enjoying water sports in the deep blue ocean and strolling along the 5-km-long sandy beach, they may also walk, run and cycle along the 2.5 km long track.
