Pavlos Vrellis Museum of Greek History
About
The Paul Vrellis Museum of Greek History is a unique wax museum situated 14 km south of Ioannina in the village of Bizani, Greece. Founded in 1983 by sculptor and historian Pavlos Vrellis, the museum houses 150 life‑size wax figures arranged across 37 thematic panels that together cover over 2,400 years of Greek history—from ancient times through the War of Independence and World II. The interior, meticulously designed by Vrellis himself, evokes the 18th‑century Epirus fortress‑style architecture and places each model within a realistic miniature landscape, inviting visitors to wander through a vivid narrative of the country’s past. The museum is free of charge, welcoming guests daily from 10:00 am to 4:00 pm, and offers an immersive experience that appeals to families, history enthusiasts, and art lovers alike.
