About

The Museum is aimed at attracting the interest of the public, especially young people, get them acquainted with the historical heritage of Greece, and preserve our collective memory. It seeks to contribute to the understanding and interpretation of the past, placing it alongside the present, and to raise public awareness on historical relics connected both to tradition and culture and to national history events. The historical exhibits of the Museum rekindle the memories of the 1821 Greek War of Independence, the Macedonian struggle, the Balkan Wars, the Asia Minor Campaign, World War I and World War II, up to and including the peace-keeping missions of the 20th century, periods during which the Greeks taught lessons in heroism and self-sacrifice for the Nation.
