Meet Ioannis Capodistrias, the first Governor of Greece, at his family country house in central Corfu, a declared National Heritage Monument. The house-museum follows Capodistrias' life path from his youth in Corfu to his esteemed career as a diplomat in Europe, through to the creation of modern Greece and his assassination in 1831, as an acting Governor. A visit at the Capodistrias Museum is much more than the just an exhibition! You can explore here its amazing historic garden, with characteristic Mediterrenean flora and spectacular views over Corfu and the Ionian sea, and enjoy local refreshments and snacks at its picturesque Garden Cafe.
