About
Achaia Clauss is one of Greece’s most celebrated wineries, founded in 1861 by Bavarian entrepreneur Gustav Clauss in the Patras region of the Peloponnese. For over a century the estate has produced the iconic fortified red wine Mavrodaphne, as well as table wines and a range of other vintages. Visitors can tour the historic site, exploring its cellar rooms—including the famed Mavrodaphne cellars and the Danielis Storage Room—while sampling award‑winning wines and learning about the heritage that has attracted royalty, political leaders, and cultural icons over the years.
