We are very proud to announce that our menu consists entirely and exclusively from organic products, i.E. Products grown without the help of fertilizer and chemicals. The heart of Akrovatissa beats in the village Oros, 12 km SW of the town of Rethymno, where the organic farm from which we obtain and transfer daily all our ingredients is settled. Our constant effort for the best possible outcome would have remained incomplete without the assistance of the local community, since the oldest residents of the village were the ones who trusted us with their traditional and sometimes forgotten from the rest of the world recipes and they also offered us their expertise in performing cooking with traditional ways such as the wooden oven we use to prepare our food. However, their contribution does not end there, as they actively contribute to the process of the food production, ie the preparation of vegetables, pulses, dairy, meat, wine and raki, whereas every morning they knead and bake Akrovatissa's delicious bread.
