Hamam Cretan Memories

The Hamam Cretan Memories store for many centuries, is a historic building on Greek soil. According to the sources, they were the locker rooms of the Ottoman Turkish Bath on 25 Ramamanthyos Street. Today remains in the same position, right in front of the building of the old Ottoman Baths. According to historical evidence, the Ottoman Baths Hamam was built in 1622 by Sarizaki Hatzi Hassan Efenti, for his son Hatzi Mustafa. The store remained intact in its original form and the interventions made were according to the instructions of the Archaeological Service of Rethymno. Everything inside the Hamam Cretan Memories, including arches, rocks and bath symbols, is still preserved in its original form. At the last renovation of the store in January 2019, the cleaning, maintenance and marking of the ancient well began.
