We provide a fun and easy-going way for you to discover the history of Budapest in the Communist era. While we zigzag across the beautiful Buda and Pest on both sides of the river, I will tell you incredible, sometimes heartwarming, sometimes heartbreaking stories about American spies and diplomats, Hungarian secret police officers, unwilling agents and ordinary Hungarian citizens caught up in the secret struggle. You will get to know these people, and will even see them, as I will show you secret surveillance photos and pictures taken by the American diplomats themselves in the 1950s. The tour is entirely based on my own personal research for an upcoming book, and contains absolutely unpublished material from the most recently declassified files from the state security archives as well as eyewitness accounts.
