About
The Tihany Vinarius Winery, Gastrobar and Event House was re-dreamed in the historic building of the Tihany Abbey Cellar and Press House, built in the 1820s. Originally built in classicist style, the press house was renovated and its interiors were remodeled to suit its new function, while the characteristic thatched building, which had been connected to the view of The Inner Lake in Tihany for 200 years, was retained in its period style. The double-cross cellar with a dong vault has a capacity of 4000 hectolitres, in which wine made from grapes grown on the abbey estate was stored as a desiccant. Today, in this beautiful space, our guests can taste the best Hungarian wines, as well as the special, artisanal wines of the wineries around Lake Balaton. Our gastrobar welcomes guests all year round, 7 days a week between April and September, and for the rest of the year, and between Thursday and Sunday, however, events can be held all year round.
