Glerárkirkja is the younger of the two Lutheran Churches in Akureyri. It has served the community since 1992 and is a parish church of the ELCI ( Evangelical Lutheran Church of Iceland). It is situated in the heart of Þorpið (the village), a residential area on the north side of Akureyri. Glerárkirkja is an open and affirming congregation that welcomes all.
