At the turn of last century, it became obvious that more accommodation was needed in Seyðisfjörður to welcome the increasing number of tourists visiting the town. Originally the house was built as one of Iceland’s most luxurious hotels and restaurant in 1898 and decades later, it housed the national Sailors-bank and Landsbankinn, for almost a century. When renovated in 2002, we put efforts in preserving the historical atmosphere while adding modern convenience. In 1898 the hotel had 18 rooms and a big dining room and dancehall.
