Founded in 1932, the original timber building was repurposed into the vibrant eatery that opened its doors to guests in 2012. From 12 pm to 9:30 pm every day, diners can enjoy a menu that spotlights the freshest local catch – especially the world‑famed langoustine – along with lamb, horse tenderloin and a selection of vegetarian dishes. The restaurant prides itself on using ingredients sourced from the surrounding region and the sea, and it offers a full bar of Icelandic craft beers and wines. A no‑reservation policy keeps the dining experience relaxed, and guests can enjoy panoramic views of the harbor and the nearby Vatnajökull National Park visitor centre.
