Árbær Open Air Museum is Iceland’s living history showcase set within reclaimed homes and workshops that once dotted the outskirts of Reykjavík. The museum displays more than 20 relocated from old Reykjavík, giving visitors an immersive glimpse into the city’s 19th–20th‑century way of life. Guided tours in English lead guests through the original farmstead, the family homes of the 1900s, and various period‑specific workshops, all while narrating stories of everyday Icelandic culture.
