Eimverk Distillery, located in Gardabær just a short ride from Reykjavík, is Iceland’s first and only whisky distillery. Family‑run since 2009, it produces three flagship spirits – Flóki single‑malt whisky, Vor premium gin, and Viti traditional brewin. Each spirit is crafted from 100 % Icelandic barley and native herbs, baked in hand‑made stills and aged in new American oak casks. The tour offers a personal dive into the distillation process, with a tasting of Flóki whisky, Vor gin, and Viti brewin. Guided by Ritchie, a seasoned storyteller, visitors learn about Icelandic history and the art of spirit-making, while enjoying a small, intimate group setting. The distillery’s shop opens Monday to Friday from 10:00 to 15:30 for buying whisky, gin, brewin and unique Icelandic gifts. Tours are available by appointment only, ensuring a relaxed and educational experience.
