About
Gler í Bergvík, founded in 1982, is the first and only hot-glass workshop in Iceland. The founder and owner, Sigrún Ó.Einarsdóttir, creates functional items and one-off artistic pieces in a variety of media. Sigrún has participated in a vast number of art exhibitions worldwide. Her works have been shown in several museums and are featured in internationally recognized books and journals. Her works are to be found in public and private collections like Toyama Glass Art Museum, Ban Ki-Moon, Elton John and Queen of Denmark. Sigrún has received The Icelandic Order of The Falcon by The President of Iceland. With the Atlendic Ocean on one side and Mount Esja on the other, the studio is situated approx. 30 km from Reykjavik Center. The gallery is open by appointment.
