Student Hostel Iceland is a hostel run by Student Services at the University of Iceland. It is only open during the summer as it is located in one of our student housing buildings and used as Student Housing during winter. The building is called Gamli Garður (e. Old Garden) and is the oldest building on campus, opening its doors in 1934. The house was completely renovated 2013-2014 with special focus on keeping the old characteristics of the house. We offer 43 twin rooms with shared kitchen and bathroom facilities. On campus we have Hama - a cafeteria, Studentakjallarinn - restaurant and bar, Boksala studenta - book store and Bokakaffi - book cafe. The hostel is located in the heart of Reykjavik, walking distance to downtown, BSI the main bus terminal and airport shuttle and also a city bus stops right outside our front door taking you to every corner of the city!
