Ljósafossskóli is a former boarding school that has been converted into a hostel with 20 rooms that accommodate up to 50 guests along with a separate house on the property for 5-7 guests. We also have Bell tents during the summer time on our property. The bright, simple rooms have shared bathroom facilities. Linen and towels are included. It features an indoor sports hall, shared kitchen and guest lounge. WiFi and parking are free. We are located 20 km south of Thingvellir National park and 62 km from Reykjavík in a spectacular environment with lakes and mountain scenery. Shops and services are located in the town of Selfoss 18 km away. As we are situated at the “Golden Circle” there are numerous beautiful places in the vicinity, which are interesting and attract many, many visitors. It is also an ideal place to see the Northern Lights
