The Eider Center is a modern museum and knowledge center which invites visitors to learn about the eider duck and the fascinating methods of eiderdown farming in the past and present.The Eider Center is appropriately located in the town of Stykkishólmur in the west of Iceland, on Breidafjördur bay, home of large Eider duck breeding grounds and the most extensive eider farming world wide. The Eider Center‘s guardian is Mrs. Dorrit Mussaieff, First Lady of Iceland. Her husband, President Ólafur Ragnar Grímsson, gave a celebratory speech at the Center‘s opening in 2011. The Eider Center also proudly showcases works of Icelandic artists and offers a small selection of eiderdown products of the highest quality for sale. King Eider is a manufacturer of top quality eiderdown products since 1991. It is a family owned business, devoted to the expert gathering and handling of eiderdown.
