About

Ross Beach Family Farmhouse welcomes you to our NEWLY OPENED Bed and Breakfast. We are located just a five-minute drive outside the idyllic town of Killala on the WILD ATLANTIC WAY, with many tourist attractions nearby. We provide free Wi-Fi and free private parking. Rooms are spacious, warm and cosy, all with wooden floors and come with free toiletries, hair dryers and is child friendly. Guests at our B&B can enjoy a wide variety from our breakfast menu. Our own free-range eggs that are collected at the start of each day and homemade brown bread that is freshly made each morning are all included in breakfast. Tea and coffee making facilities are available in the dining room 24 hours a day. It is just a two-minute walk in one direction to the breath-taking Ross Beach. This beach has been awarded blue flag status and is number one in the top beaches in North Mayo. You will really be amazed by the natural beauty and unspoiled environment that this beach has to offer. It has free parking, showers, toilets, and picnic benches to enjoy lunch or any snack with your family. It is also supervised by lifeguards during summer months. This beach is an enjoyable and safe place to bring children, they will have great fun paddling in the bathing section, playing in the sand, collecting seashells, making sandcastles and exploring the many rock pools. On summer days children love the ice-cream van or even the crepe van. Ross Beach is excellent for swimming and other water sports and is a safe place for you and your family to enjoy. On the other hand, we are also located beside a more private beach. Just a two-minute walk in the opposite direction from our B&B, will take you to this hidden away treasure, which is home to many interesting migratory birds from the polar regions. One of the most impressive things is the walk to the beach as you get to view lots of farm animals and wildlife. As you travel through the sand dunes, one of the nicest views is of the freshwater lake where you can catch sight of wild geese, ducks and swans, this is even before you reach the beach. Upon reaching the beach you can decide on the direction you want to take, by going right you get to see some of the most wonderful and unique rocks and shells. If you choose to go left you can walk for miles and miles with just you, the sand and the water. It is really one of the nicest things you could come across and something you don't want to miss out on. Our B&B is in a perfect location for sightseeing, Killala is our nearest town which is a five-minute drive away. Whether you like fishing or site seeing Killala has everything to offer. It is famous for its round tower dating back to the 12th century and the Church of Ireland Cathedral built in 1790. Killala offers shops, restaurants, bars and cafes to meet your every need. The greenway can be viewed by cycling or walking and takes you on a journey, walked by Humberts French army in 1798 through to Ballina where you will pass Moyne Abbey, Rosserk Abbey & the Old Railway Line. Also, from our B&B you can visit Downpatrick head, which is only a fifteen-minute drive, showing you the beautiful cliffs and the stand-alone stack. The area also consists of the ruins of a church, holy well and stone cross, which together mark the site of an earlier church founded by St Patrick.
