About
Ballycarbery Castle is a historic 16th‑century fortress perched on a grassy hill overlooking the Atlantic, just 3 km north of Cahersiveen in County Kerry. While the castle’s great walls and staircases now lie in ruin, the site offers visitors a tangible link to Ireland’s turbulent past, with remnants of arrow‑slits and a soaring, roofed chamber. Though the surrounding land is private, a small parking area only 100 m from the front allows visitors to view the ruins and enjoy sweeping views of the sea and the surrounding countryside.
