About
The Irish Famine Exhibition is a temporary mobile museum housed on the 2nd Floor of the Stephens Green Shopping Centre, Dublin. Opening daily from 12 pm to 6 pm between 1 April and 30 September 2026, the exhibition explores the devastating impact of the 19th‑century Great Hunger through authentic 19th‑century photographs, newspaper articles, letters, and a short 15‑minute film. Visitors can expect to spend about 1 ¼ hours immersing themselves in the tragic story of Ireland’s most catastrophic famine, gaining a deeper understanding of its causes, consequences and enduring legacy. Beyond the historical artifacts, the exhibition offers an engaging multimedia experience that brings the era to life, making it an invaluable educational resource for students, history enthusiasts, and families alike. The modern design and intimate setting foster reflective reflection, while the vivid storytelling compounds emotional resonance. Please note the exhibition is not suitable for children under 7 and is intended for audiences 7 years and older.
