The Burren Visitor Centre
About
The Burren Visitor Centre is the licensed information point for the UNSECO Global Geopark, and wider North Clare region. It hosts the comprehensive 'Burren Exhibition' which introduces the visitor to the magical world of the Burren formation, archaeology, flora, fauna, heritage, people and music. A short film by renowned naturalist, Eamon de Buitlear is shown on The Burren Landscape. In addition, a smaller exhibition tells the story of internationally renowned Kilfenora Ceili Band, and the unique tradition of music in the North Clare area. Digital Story Trails with comprehensive audio tours are available to accompany both exhibitions and the adjacent Kilfenora Cathedral and the High Crosses for which Kilfenora is famed. Guided Village walking tours are available during the main tourist season. The craft shop features exclusive art, craft and unique souvenirs from producers in the Burren region, while the tea rooms serve simple, homemade food and drink.
