Top of Coom, is Irelands Official Highest Pub is set 1045ft above sea level. The pub overlooks the Glanlee valley to the west and the Muscrai valley to the east. The pub is situated in an area of great natural beauty. Music sessions can often break out when least expected which is not surprising considering the pub is renowned throughout traditional music circles and its location near the Muscrai Gaeltacht means a visitor may often hear a word or two of Irish language spoken. Established in the middle of the 19thCentury, as the fifth generation of the Creedon family Tim, Eileen and their sons will offer a warm welcome to all who come through the door. Although its appearance has changed, as well as the drinks served, the one constant in the history of the Top of Coom pub is that its’ at the heart of the community and everyone who comes through the door leaves a friend.
