Slieve League
About
Slieve League is Ireland’s tallest sea cliff, towering 601 m (1,972 ft) above the Atlantic coast of County Donegal. The dramatic drop – up to 1,500 ft – creates a breathtaking vista that attracts hikers, photographers and nature lovers from around the world. From the summit you can gaze across the rugged coastline, spot the nearby Sliabh Liag peaks, and on a clear day even see the Irish Sea’s distant horizons. The famed One‑Man’s Path – a narrow rock walk that runs the length of the ridge – offers a challenging yet rewarding trek with sweeping views of the Atlantic. Visitors can reach the cliffs easily by car from Teelin or Carbaleen, and free public access to the cliff side is available, although a small parking fee may apply at the viewpoint. The site is a highlight of the Wild Atlantic Way, celebrated for its natural beauty, geological significance, and the sense of awe it inspires in all who experience it.
