About

Buggles Pub and B&B is a traditional pub built circa. 1800, owned and operated by three generations of the same family. Its warm, relaxing atmosphere is welcoming and the adjoining Bed and Breakfast is of the finest quality with large spacious rooms overlooking the noted Heritage Town of Kilrush. Some of our rooms overlook Kilcredane Lighthouse and the historic townland of Reaha.Kilrush has a fine Georgian streetscape, a marina, an eighteen hole golf course, Dolphin boat trips, the restored nineteenth century Vandeleur Walled Gardens, and of course the restored West Clare Railway (immortalised by Percy French: 'are you right there Michael'), the magnificent and ancient Scattery Island which contains the remains of five of seven churches, an intact 5th century, 120 feet round tower, Napoleonic battery, a light house and keepers cottage, the deserted 'street' from the 1960s is both eerie and charming. A monthly lecture series by the local Kilrush Historical Society complements many of the local activities. Kilrush is a veritable Photographers Paradise (a quick search through Flickr confirms this) and all are welcome to enjoy the music, sample the atmosphere and experience the tranquility of Kilrush topped-off with a great pint of Guinness with Shamrock atop in Buggles Pub.
