About

Lissadell House is a stunning Greek‑Revival country mansion overlooking Drumcliff Bay in County Sligo. Built between 1830 and 1835 for Sir Robert Gore‑Booth, it has been home to figures such as Constance Markievicz and W.B. Yeats. After a long period of neglect, the house and its gardens have been restored and now offer guided tours, exhibitions and woodland walks. The estate, however, is closed to the public until June 2026 and visitors must book in person at the reception centre. The guided house tour lasts about 45‑50 minutes and is usually followed by visits to the Alpine Garden and the Victorian Kitchen Garden.
