The Holy Spirit Monastery - Cistercian Nuns. The Holy Spirit Abbey, known as "the Great Abbey" (in the “Bataranni” dialect), is an ancient Cistercian abbey for nuns. It was founded between 1290 and 1295. The Cistercian monastic community, preserved uninterruptedly until today, continues to perpetuate its original venerable traditions, including the practice of hospitality, a very old form of evangelization, which was always exercised in monasteries living under the rule of St. Benedict, as well as the preparation of sweets made of almond paste and pistachio.The B & B "Holy Spirit Monastery", annexed to the monastery, is the ideal place to spend your holidays thanks to its favorable location in the historical city center.It consists of bright and comfortable single and double rooms with private bathroom, all rooms are equipped with all facilities and comforts, air conditioning, heating and TV. You can also have a kitchenette complete with accessories, an oven, a fridge and a dining area.
