It is made up of buildings all dating from different periods and all belonging to the noble family of Sarriod from the thirteenth to the early nineteenth century. Some valuable wall paintings from the thirteenth and fourteenth centuries, the period when the family reached the top of its political prestige, can be admired all along the visit. The "Heads Room", with its ceiling supported by 171 corbels carved into grotesque shapes, monsters and fantastic animals, is one of the original carving wooden late Gothic profane masterpieces.
