Le Terrine is a traditional stone farmhouse set amongst fields of sunflowers, tobacco and sweet peppers. It looks south and west across a valley to the tiny village of Ripoli. Renovated with traditional materials (chestnut beams, terracotta floors etc), Le Terrine provides comfortable, spacious accommodation for 8 adults plus children. Outdoors there is a large tiled 'portico' to provide shade for eating, a large terrace lined with lavender and rosemary, a large garden planted with shrubs and fruit trees and a pool (12m x 6m) on a lower terrace with shaded seating as well as ample full sun. Despite its tranquil location, Le Terrine is only a 3 minute car journey from the medieval hilltop town of Monterchi. Monterchi, famous for the 'Madonna de Parto' painting by Pierro della Francesca has a good supermarket, bars, restaurants, shops, banks and a local market. The grander cities of Florence, Arezzo, Sienna, Perugia and Rimini are all readily accessible. Services: The house is cleaned and maintained by Fausto and Monica who live locally. They can also provide a taxi service to airports or for a night out. Babysitting (English speaking) and meals catered at the house can also be arranged if booked in advance.
