S'Archittu
About
S'Archittu is a charming coastal resort nestled just south of Oristano on the western coast of Sardinia, Italy. The area is famed for its dramatic limestone formation—a naturally carved arch that gently encloses a pristine beach and creates a breathtaking scene where the sea meets the stone. The arch, standing about 17 metres high, is the product of centuries of marine erosion on an ancient cave. It offers a striking contrast to the blue Mediterranean waters below and serves as a popular spot for snorkeling, diving, and casual beach walks. During summer evenings the arch is illuminated, turning it into a luminous landmark that attracts photographers and romantics alike. Beyond its geological wonder, S'Archittu has been a venue for notable events, such as the 2001 High Dive World Championship, and its nearby footpath provides easy access to the surrounding shoreline. Whether you’re a casual beachgoer, a history enthusiast fascinated by natural formations, or simply in search of a scenic getaway, S'Archittu offers a memorable escape in the heart of Sardinia.
