Latteria Marini was founded by Giuseppe Marini in the 20's in Rua della Seta and it has been, for lots of years, a centre to collect and distribute milk. Yet at that times, the production and the selling of whipped cream, has represented a distinctive element for the shop, and soon they started even to produce yogurt. Then, in 1933, they moved the shop in the near Piazza Roma, and, from that moment, the Latteria assumed the role of café and it becomes a gathering place, where to taste coffee, hot chocolate and maritozzi, an Italian typical sweet bread, filled with whipped cream. Today, as yesterday, the shop is still owned by the Marini's family and this contributes to make this place part of the story of the city of Ascoli Piceno.
