In the Renaissance, Chianti saw a revival of houses , farms, no longer surrounded by crenellated walls but by parks and gardens. The "il Casello" is the real original Chianti country hamlet, consisting of three buildings separated by a farmyard paved with the local rock used today as a panoramic terrace.
