Manaresi
About
Manaresi wine estate lies on the top of Bella Vista hill, 12 km south west from Bologna, in the heart of Colli Bolognesi DOCG wine district. The 11 hectares vineyards go round the estate centre at 270 degrees, facing all the plain from Bologna to Modena. The view rises above up to the Alps on crystal clear days. The winery has been named after Paolo Manaresi (1908-1991), prominent painter and etcher in the last century. The estate is personally run by Donatella Agostoni- Manaresi (Paolo Manaresi's grandaughter) and Fabio Bottonelli, by respecting the land and seeking the right balance. The soil is mainly clay with a little of gravel, with historical vocation for wine growing since the middle-age. The winery is furnished with up to date enological machinery and devices able to respect grapes. It lies underground on the lower level of an old Bolognese rural complex, whose 100 years old part has not been changed. All hand picked in small crates, grapes are very softly worked, all separate day by day, with a special care for quality, through low impact enological processes. Open at all times for direct sale. For guided tours and tastings, please write or call in advance (in this case a small fee is charged).
