POSITION The hamlet of Bauernkohlern, with its Berghotel Kohlern (1130m above sea level), is located high above Bozen on a pleasant shoulder of meadow. The mountain station of the first cable car in the world to carry passengers is only three minutes away on foot. Since 1908, this cable car has carried visitors from everywhere from Bozen's valley up to the top of its very own mountain. Our manor house, built in the alpine art nouveau style, sits enthroned on a small hill near to a small chapel. Up here you will find absolute peace and tranquillity and can let your gaze wander far to the east, north and west. Gasthof Kohlern's cuisine, with its full commitment to Bozen's tradition of special delicacies, has distinguished itself many times. Mushrooms, blossoms and herbs come from the surrounding woodland and meadows. Meat and vegetables come preferably from the farmers in the region. Everything is home-made.
