I Moricci
About
The Rosselli del Turco family has owned most of the land surrounding the small village of Fabbrica di Peccioli since the 17th century and their farm has introduced the organic way of farming and opened to guests the large farmhouse in "leopoldino" style since 1998. Placed on a hillock overlooking the valley of the River Era, few kilometres far from Volterra, the farm produces extra-virgin olive oil, wine, cereals and fruit on its thirty hectares of land. Beyond those linked to farming, the activities of the farm are several: extra-virgin olive oil tasting, guided visits to the oil-mill, the cellar and the local firms that produce typical specialities from the area. The Tuscan cuisine courses are much required, too. The walks in the countryside are beautiful and charming. Its central position with respect to Tuscany's main cities of art makes of 'I Moricci' the ideal place where to combine culture and relax: Volterra, Pisa, Lucca, Firenze, San Gimignano, as well as the seaside, are within a short driving distance (one hour at the utmost). Four large apartments, each one with its special features, are at the guests' disposal. They have been restored according to the traditional style of Tuscan farmhouses. Every apartment enjoys its own private outdoor space and the common wide veranda, facing the swimming pool, under which to relax reading a good book or to have a barbecue, near the little playground for children.
