The old workshop of the Napoli brothers is located in the historic center of Catania(Via Reitano, 55)near the Ursino Castle and the Pescheria market.It represents a heritage of great historical-cultural importance for the territory,since,from the time of Gaetano Napoli to today,here are handed down from generation to generation the"knowledge of the hand"and the rules of trade that allow the realization of all objects of artistic craftsmanship related to the tradition of the Catanese Puppet Opera.Gaetano Napoli founded the company in 1921,entrusting it to his sons and grandchildren,who have continuously continued the business. The Naples represent texts based on ancient tea towels and also shows for children and mixed technique shows.The collection includes puppets dating back to the late nineteenth century or early twentieth century,scenes, signs and theatrical equipment of great historical-anthropological interest,which recount an ancient tradition and well rooted in Sicilian culture
