The "pietre ricce" bed and breakfast, a comfortable detached house recently reconstructed in local stone, is located in the unique environment of the famous “curly stones” of Roccamontepiano, 131 Roma Road (Chieti – Abruzzo - Italy). This area of St. Rocco can be found within the foothills of the Majella National Park recognized Unesco World GeoPark, which is just one step from the ski resorts of Passo Lanciano and Maielletta. Furthermore, it is only a short distance from the Adriatic sea (Trabocchi Coast and Park of the Teatina Coast - beaches of Pescara, Francavilla, Ortona, San Vito Chietino, etc ..). The B&B is not far either from the Gran Sasso and Monti della Laga National Park. It is possible to accommodate 1 to 25 people in 3 connecting apartments or, if you prefer, completely separate and independent. Fresh breakfasts are available daily of croissants, homemade cakes, fresh fruit etc ... Meals of Abruzzo specialties can be delivered to the apartment on request. Average price per person: € 25,00 (inclusive of overnight stay, breakfast, bed linen and towels with the necessary changes, heating of the apartments, use of kitchens, refrigerators, ovens and other equipment, including washing machines, barbecue and open fireplace complete with wood, etc). The price is dependent on the time of year (high season and low season prices apply). Discounts are available for groups and/or prolonged stays, and for children under 3 years. Other services included in the price: TV in all bedrooms and living rooms, courtyard equipped with outdoor barbecue, large sun terrace, ample parking for cars, campers and buses. Also in this room you can surf the Internet for free (24 h in Wi-Fi). There will be no additional charges of any kind (except for only the bike rental and the additional cost for pets). The accommodation on the ground floor has 2 private apartments, each of around 75 square meters, either connected or completely separate and independent, each comprised of: 2 private rooms with the ability to arrange as single beds or double beds, or both; 1 private bathroom; 1 private large living room/kitchen, equipped with traditional fireplace; 1 private courtyard of around 70 square meters, equipped with barbecue, gazebo, etc.. On the first floor there is another private apartment of around 100 square meters completely separate and independent, comprised of: 4 private rooms with the means to arrange as single beds or double beds, or both; 1 private bathroom; 1 private large living room/kitchen; 1 private outdoor sun terrace of around 60 square meters, equipped with barbecue, gazebo, etc.. Historical-Architectonic-Religious: museums, theatres, galleries, exhibitions, excavations and Roman temples, archaeologic sites, hermitages (Saint Onofrio and Saint Bartolomeo), churches (you have to visit the Saint Face’s sanctuary and the Saint Camillo De Lellis’s relic), Saint Liberatore a Maiella’s medieval abbey, convent Saint Francesco Caracciolo, towers, castles, cottages, historical villages, raw earth houses and Saint Pietro’s walls. Handmade: manufacturing of wrought iron, copper, ceramics, Maiella stone, textiles and laces, wood, wickers and the characteristic Roccamontepiano “curly stones”. Roccamontepiano “The Garden of Majella” Roccamontepiano lies about 500 meters above the sea-level, extended at the foot of the travertine (calc-sinter) tableland of Montepiano. A village of about two thousand inhabitants, scattered on a very large territory gathered in a ten rural and historical quarters, far from each other some kilometres, of a myriad of houses colleted in centennial woods and among stones of Montepiano. A pleasant place, that every season of the year opens its own doors to the tourists. The tableland, the centennial woods, the huge lushness of spring waters, sheep tracks between hills in the vale and deep chines, make of this village a veritable “Garden of Majella”
