The Caffetteria delle Oblate is the place to be, if you want to take some time for yourself, enjoy a cultural event, celebrate special moments in different ways or, simply to try the excellent food – a unique experience in Florence indeed. A gathering place for people: located on the second floor of the library you can find the Caffetteria, which has been open to public since May 2009. Maybe it's the spirit of the Oblate - this special and modern library, which already has become an important place of the city's social and cultural life - that attracts thousands of people every year. This library is opened seven days a week and for special events and meetings even until midnight. Quality: lunch is being offered between 12.30am and 3pm. Here you can enjoy diverse dishes with seasonal ingredients. Our quality and social commitment become apparent in our choice to offer organic, fair trade products - not only for our best coffee blend, but also to be a responsible part of the ecological cycle. This high quality can also be found in our desserts, chocolate with cream and in our aperitifs, which we offer from Tuesday to Saturday starting at 6.30pm and finishing at 10pm. For these hours our bar turns into a multifarious buffet with Italian cuisine or whit dishes from other cultures and countries. Special Events: We offer weekly book presentations with guests, who are well-known in the world of culture. We also offer guided tours to places of art around the city, which are very beautiful but often not really noticed. Further we offer a lot of good live music, appetizers from all around the world and theme based dinners. In the past we could already welcome guests like Patti Smith, Wlodek Goldkorn, Adriano Sofri, Giannantonio Stella, Paolo Hendel, Mauro Pagani, Riccardo Bertoncelli, Cristiano Godano, Massimo Carlotto, Lorenzo Arruga etc, as well as come Titta Nesti, Franco Santarnecchi, Alessio Lega, Ettore Bonafé, Daniele Malvisi, Jacopo Martini and Franco Nesti. Organise your event: on reservation we organise press conferences, refreshments, cocktails, coffee breaks, aperitifs, lunch and dinners. If requested the menus can also be based on a special theme. In spring and summer we can use the splendid terrace with view on the Dome.
