We are just outside of Florence. We’ve left the city behind us and have taken the famous Secondary Road n. 222, better known as the Chiantigiana, towards Siena. The seasonal menu choices are the result of careful research of regional culinary tradition: therefore, next to the “Great Tuscan Classics” there are extraordinary dishes that are now almost forgotten or at least obsolete like Peposo or Tripe, back to life on the Caminetto del Chianti table. The secret to this restaurant’s quality cuisine is found mainly in its use of locally produced prime quality products. Great care is also taken in a selection of wines originating mainly from the local area. When the weather is hot, you can also eat on the panoramic terrace under the shade of the linden trees, while in winter your meals will be heated by the slow and welcoming fire of the large fireplace that gives the restaurant its name.
