Officina Profumo Farmaceutica Di Santa Maria Novella
About
Officina Profumo‑Farmaceutica di Santa Maria Novella, commonly known as the Santa Maria Novella Pharmacy, is a historic perfumery and herbalist shop located in Florence, Italy. Dating back to 1612, it is considered the world’s oldest continuously operating pharmacy. The shop originated from the medical experiments of Dominican monks in the Santa Maria Novella monastery and has evolved into a thriving luxury fragrance and cosmetics house with 75 locations worldwide. Inside its original Florentine premises on Via della Scala, the historic sales rooms occupy a former chapel, and the museum and library dedicated to the pharmacy’s history attract around 2,000 visitors daily. Officina offers a broad range of perfumes, liqueurs, soaps, pot pourri, and other fragrant products that blend medieval craftsmanship with modern design.
