Residenza D'Epoca Al Numero 8
About
"Al Numero 8", immersed in the magical atmosphere of the Florence city center between the left bank of the Arno and Borgo San Frediano, the Florentine art and history neighborhood, welcomes its guests in a comfortable and charming old building, adjacent to the main monuments and the most important squares of Florence. The exclusivity of the property is underlined by belonging to the class of "historical residence" since it is located in an elegant fifteenth century building. Transformed in the nineteenth century in neo-Renaissance style, it is embellished with allegorical frescoes, with an inner courtyard and rear garden overlooking the Arno River. "Al Numero 8" is named for its address that will welcome our guests in Florence, offering them the chance to feel at home in this precious corner of the world. An address for a day, or however long, it will be your little corner of the world in Florence, because we believe there is nothing more beautiful than to find something familiar in an unfamiliar city. In "Al Numero 8" each room has its own well defined personality, a story to tell. There are objects and colors selected one by one, hand-made and specifically chosen, that have a soul and blend with harmony and simplicity, and the design pieces of artwork merge with the frescoes in the structure . You can view them, use them, read them, and buy them. To give a well-defined identity to every room we have taken suggestions from Vasco Pratolini's novel "Girls of San Frediano." Each room tells us about one of the protagonists (Tosca, Gina, Mafalda, Sylvan, and Bice.) And the main character (Bob), which is our common area, that for love and hate united the women in a kind of feminine revolution. A story, set right in the streets of the San Frediano district, with intelligence and poetry will tell you about a part of our Florence. "Al Numero 8" also asked young emerging artists to tell their story, and to influence our historical residence, including the rooms, to try their hand at a new model of artistic fruition in Florence .
