Monte Romano Astronomical Observatory
About
The Monte Romano Astronomical Observatory is a structure built by the non-profit association Gruppo Astrofili Antares Romagna APS and inaugurated in 1999. It is located in the territory of Brisighella, on the extreme border of the province of Ravenna with Tuscany, at 762 meters above sea level in a privileged panoramic point with a view of the valley of the Lamone river that reaches the Adriatic coast where the area of the city of Ravenna and the sea are clearly visible. Both day and night it offers views worth admiring. A Newton-Cassegrain telescope with a 500 mm mirror and other instruments is installed in the dome. From May to the beginning of October there are some days of free opening (free contribution). It is possible to participate in the openings for the public by booking on the dedicated website or, you can request PRIVATE visits for groups and individuals, by writing an email to the association or to the contact address of the observatory.
