Located close to the centre of Rocca di Mezzo on a high plain at 1,300 m. with beautiful mountain scenery in every direction. The Hotel Caldora is located almost half way between the ski areas of Ovindoli and Campo Felice and is an excellent base to get the best out the area's ski resorts.The Hotel Caldora consists of seventy comfortably furnished guest rooms, including some family rooms that can sleep up to four people. Guest facilities include a lounge and a well stocked bar (with 24 hour service) on the ground floor near the reception area. The restaurant serves breakfast, lunch and dinner, and the lower ground floor is the venue for regular live evening entertainment (in Italian). The hotel staff are very friendly and welcoming.Free wireless internet is available in the hotel, and English is spoken. Free parking is available in the hotel car park, or on the quiet street in front of the hotel.The facilities of Rocca di Mezzo village are just steps away, where guests will find a selection of shops, bars and restaurants.There are seventy comfortable guest rooms available in the Hotel Caldora, consisting of doubles, triples and quadruples. Each room is equipped with private bathroom with shower and w.c., colour TV and telephone. A minibar is available on request.Some rooms have a balcony offering superb mountain views of the Altopiano (high plain) delle Rocche.All meals are taken in the spacious restaurant of the Hotel Caldora.Breakfast – Get ready to ski each morning with an Italian buffet breakfast consisting of freshly baked croissants, 'pane biscottate' (a bit like Melba toast), plumcake, yoghurt, breakfast cereal and prunes. Hot drinks include coffee, cappuccino, hot chocolate, milk and tea (all from a self service machine). Blood orange and pineapple juice plus water are the cold drink choices.Lunch and Dinner – expect authentic Italian and Abruzzo cuisine with three choices of first and second courses plus fruit or desert. There are always vegetarian choices as well as pork free choices.Special diets in most cases can be dealt with by prior arrangement. Please check at the time of booking.There is an excellent wine list featuring wines from Abruzzo and other areas of Italy.A programme of optional guest entertainment is available for most of the season, with activities for adults and children alike. This is mainly for the benefit of Italian speaking guests and such programmes, called 'Animazione' are commonly found in hotels frequented by Italians. Evening events are held in the lower ground floor disco.There is a small exercise room with equipment located on the lower ground floor, as well as a games room and billiards.On sunny days the solarium at the front of the hotel is a great place to soak up the sun.
