The Geological Museum of the Dolomites in Predazzo is a museum with a long tradition, opened to the public in 1899 on the initiative of the "Società magistrale di Fiemme e Fassa". It is the result of the strong attention given to these areas by the international geological research since the early nineteenth century, when precisely in Predazzo took shape a new theory about the origin of the mountains.
