About

The Archaeological Civic Museum opened in 2002 in the historic seat of Villa Adele, collects the main material evidence of ancient Anzio from its origins until the period of maximum splendor under the Roman Empire. Inside the exhibition space it is possible to see the finds from the proto-historical necropolis and from the votive deposits of the republican age in addition to the testimonies of the republican and imperial era coming from building complexes public and private. Also of interest are the mosaics and frescoes from the Imperial Villa (the so-called Villa di Nerone) and the numerous statuary and architectural finds that attest to the existence, in ancient times, of a wealthy and refined noble commission.
