« Relais Il Mignano » is a luxurious medieval palazzo located in the old town centre of Nardò. Its name comes from the magnificent balcony (mignano) situated above the principal sculpted portal. The mignano allowed the women living in the palazzo to attend the processions without being seen. In the Middle Age, noble families also used it to exhibit their beautiful fabrics showing their richness and power. Located next to the Acquaviva’s Aragonese Castle (XV century) and to the botanical garden , at only 3 kms from the sea, the nice resorts and to Porto Selvaggio National Park, on a territory full of history (old villas in Moorish style, masserias, Norman towers), Relais Il Mignano is a good compromise for holidays made of culture, nature and relax.
